Archana Srinivas and a beautiful give-away

I cannot think of blogging without thinking of Archana Srinivas. She is the 1st Indian design blogger I met online when I began reading design blogs and her flickr stream was a must check on my morning involuntary click lists. And so when my blog turns 5 it is only natural that she be featured, acknowledged and thanked. She taught me to see beauty in my everyday life, in my home.  Writer of different gorgeous blogs that span from her love for food to photography to India to her daughter, decor and chai, what connects them all is her unerring eye for beauty that the sun creates. And as a tribute to her, here are a few of my favourites from her well visited archives on flickr. I'm sure all of you must have seen and loved them as much as I do.
She is one of the rare people who I've seen use the whimsical and quaint slate board with such elegance.

Archana is formidable force in her kitchen and these are her tools of trade.
I love the easy and natural grace with which she displays her collections, be it ladles or be it dry leaves collected on a morning walk.

Archana wrote to me when she saw the 1st few in the India aaha series I had designed & here they sit framed against her wall.
Archana's photography in natural light can produce some seriously dramatic results like you will see in the following pictures.
And here are a few glimpses of shade and light in her new home in Minnesota. Here's wishing Archana a lot more amazing blogging and just a very beautiful and enriching life.
Creating beauty whereever she is and spotlighting it in the simplest of ways is Archana's hallmark.
We've seen and loved Bangalore's flora through Archana's eyes and now we will be acquainted with Minnesota's natural wonders

And now for the exciting part,
just leave a comment here about what part of Archana's work is the most powerful for you and which is your favourite blog of all her blogs and

you win this gorgeous print,
which she will ship all the way from her new home. This is one photograph of hers which I would love hanging on my wall. It is art and true Archana style. We discussed if I should ship it or she will and she decided she will. So your give-away will come all the way from Minnesota in the U.S. packed with love by the blogging diva herself.
And these are all her gorgeous blogs, so you find it easier to check out all her work & pick your favourite :)

What I admire about Archana is the way she makes a simple thing look gorgeous.. The art of making an ordinary thing look extraordinary is the key talent of Archana. I have been following her blogs and all of them are equally adoring and I must say I admire the way she brings up the story in the form of photo essay. Out of all her blogs, Rang Decor is not doubt my favorite but it comes second.

I simply drool over her chai blog. The way she clicks the cups, the steam, the light~the whole aura of tea is just given an X factor by her. Every time I visit her tea blog, I drool over the snaps, head to her flickr album about tea and what next, I get the urge to have a cup of the celestial beverage. A Cup of Chai indeed rocks...

P.S: Wish I get to get this print of her adorable work..

Rang Decor, hands down. Someone truly said that beauty lies sometimes in the smallest of things, and Archana manages to capture these moments/ post/ photographs and beauty straight out of everyday, mundane life settings. My favorite post is about her Kutch trip, the salt dunes and Lakhania village. Her blogs truly are a treat to look, read and enjoy.

Vineeta, like you, many of us have got our first 'taste' of Indian blogging through Archana. I first came across her home on Apartment Therapy which led me to her beautiful blogs. Though I love all her blogs, I think my favourite would be Rang Decor!

I love the way Rang Decor has evolved... being a designer myself, and also someone who is passionate about everything Indian, Archana's blog just brings out the beauty of this country in a whole new dimension.

It is the way she looks at the smaller details that make the larger picture beautiful that has made the experience of reading her blogs so much more wonderful.

Would actually term it 'Lens from the heart'...and oh, yes- she also shoots straight at the heart. :)

Oh goodness, this is too good to miss not commenting on!
What do I find most powerful about her pics? The framing of her compositions, the way she artfully moves her subjects within the frame to create the perfect balance between color and visual weight....no doubt about it!
My fav blog - Rang Decor

RANG-DECOR IT HAS TO BE....I love her home, the way the plants make their subtle yet stand-out appearances, the light, the little chalkboard and the way she captures the delicate steam from those lovely cups of chai, the books -most of the times,a subject in her various compositions, the list goes on...She has a way of making people fall in love with their lives just by giving a new set of lens to appreciate the beauty in little things around...

Love her chai captures, they always beckon for an instant cuppa! Rolling with sugar dust the pictures are simply to dote on! I love the fact she tried one my recipes on the orange ricotta cake which is captured so delicately! Miss having your presence being felt here at Solstice!

'DE JA VU' is what I experience when I go through Archana's blog. Each blog makes me feel like a lost child returning home, delighting in the familiar corners of light & darkness in the rooms, its loved shades and hues, its aromas, the warm old books in it,the pictures & colours and the food & beverages in it which beckon that child in me, saying 'its yesterday once more'...
My favourite blog would perhaps be 'Rang Decor' for bringing out the simple ,elegant beautiful concept called 'Home'.. :)

Wow! This is remarkable! I have so much to say and I don't know how. Her blogs have been truly inspiring. I can't think of saying it in any better way than you already have. I like all her blogs. All her photographs have a beautiful, simple and precise narrative. They have a certain calmness and at the same time, they make you immensely happy to have consumed something beautiful and delicious through your eyes :-).  They are truly "sore labour's bath", on rough days... thank you! Thank you Archana!

She makes us notice the simplest things that our eyes tend to avoid, and that too with such a beauty that you say..how come I didn't see it.

I can't miss the brightness and freshness in her pictures on the Rang blog. Love it. Waiting to see more of the beauty of new country through her lens.

I love Rang decor and all of Archana's design inspirations! Her novel way of using a traditional sombu (small pot) as a vase is awesome. One thing that inspired me the most was her traditional kolams (rangoli) and krishna's feet on pebbles! My mother in law used that idea to create lovely chair covers with embroidered kolams to add a nice Indian touch to our home in the US! Thank you for the great compilation of Archana's work, Vineeta.

I might sound like a broken record here but Rang Decor is indeed my favorite. I happen to chance upon this blog looking for creative ideas to decorate a home in indian ethnic decor. Have been an ardent fan ever since and enjoy reading her blog!

They say "A picture says a million words" how true when you the essence of everyday life captured in Archana's photography.

Archana; I hope someday you will be able to advice me on furnishing that one room in my home !

Rang Decor and a Cup of Chai...would be very difficult to choose between the two. One brought visual beauty into the morning and the other brought the aroma to enjoy it with.

Archana's work has inspired (a pretty uncreative) me to create little spaces of beauty in our home, this has kept us going through some rough and hectic times. With those strong cups of chai in beautiful pottery cups.

Please don't make me choose! :-D

I have been a silent follower of Archana's Rang Decor for the past two years and that's my fav. Not even a single day passes without a peek in her blog to check what's the latest post. It is a true treasure..:)

Archana's posts always inspire me to look at my everyday life in a new light, literally. The ray of morning light is elusive in our home but simple arrangements of cups and leaves and chairs against an old wall make me want to reach out for my camera and see what she might have seen. It isn't easy, though! Which is what makes her blogs so inspirational. Rang Decor is my favourite of all (because it is the one most frequently updated :) but all her blogs are gorgeous. Just as she is.

It is difficult to choose which blog of Archana's I like best. I simply love her "A Cup of Chai" pictures. Simple everyday pictures but so well framed and they bring out so much emotion.
I follow Rang Decor and Rang the colors of life too. Though I am still a student and dont have a home of my own, I am so inspired by her decor ideas and the beautiful homes she covers on her blog.
Rang:The colors of life is a lovely blog too. I think this one is my fav. My visit to Kochi was made much better thanks to the blog as I knew exactly where to go.
She is really talented and I enjoy her updates.

I first came to know about Archana's blog through a DH article and I was completely awed by her high standards, which at the time was rare in Indian Decor Blogging scene. So I completely agree that she is the 'diva' of decor blogging.
I love her photography so all her blogs have been favorites. I totally love the way she experimented with natural sunlight creating stark contrasts in her photography, which no one did without fear. I think she was a trend setter for that in India. Her photographs always remind me of a still life painting, perfect composition, perfect lighting.
I'll pick Rang decor because along with photography, it has featured awesome artists in India who were unknown before.

This comment is not so much for the giveaway as it is about truly appreciating the beauty that Archana has scattered through her many wonderful blogs. She is probably one of the first design bloggers i began to follow. Infact i got following your blog, thanks to her. Though i love every blog that she writes so effortlessly, i have to go for the chai blog as it brings together two of my favs - photography and chai :)

wish Archana lots of good luck in the new country.

ah! This is my first ever comment on any blog and i read a lot of blogs :). Rang decor was one of the first blogs i started reading when i brought my new home in this new country. When i craved for my Bangalore , the sun streaked Bangalore that i knew , or when i craved for some indianness when designing my new home - i went to RAng Decor to satisfy my soul. She soothed so many of my afternoons and stroked my love of brass, bronze, color and everything Indian.
I would LOVE to win the print, but even if i dont, i just want to say thank you to you Arch for the beauty that your posts create.

Archana is simply brilliant. Hard as it is to choose, Rang the Colours of Life is my favorite one, because this is where she began her journey of blogging and we met along the way and she inspired me in so many simple yet meaningful ways.

I always love to see glimpses of India through her lens and now we get to share her perspective on life in MN.

Encore Archana..keep those images coming...

The first time I visited her blog, I loved it all the more for 3 reasons! It was a wow, wow, wow moment for me :)
We share the same name, we love the same drink-tea and love for colors!

I simply love all her blogs! But if I have to choose one, that would be A Cup of Chai! I am a total tea lover and I simply love the way she presents her cups of tea.I feel that sunlight, crushed ginger, cakes, books ...and so many other beautiful things have been invited for a tea party :)

And, how can I forget the "Shimla cha ah ha" picture? :)

I love the way she makes me enjoy and look forward to those little things in life.Every time I visit Rang Decor I am so inspired to redo something at home.

After seeing the collection of her ladles, I went to Chitra Kala Parishat and looked for antique ladles :) I simply love her work!

I live my dreams through her blog... RANGDECOR indeed being my favorite... the second being "A CUP OF CHAI". More than the beauty of her blog is the freedom with which she writes.. The freedom she has given to herself to do so... You can actually feel her vibrancy... her happiness when she must be capturing those pictures... I can imagine her to be standing on the shore facing deep vast ocean and swaying her scarf behind her... Her sense of accomplishment... Her "no-matter where I am... you cannot hide the nature from me" attitude... Thanks Archana for adding Colors to my life...
